Matt Campbell has been dubbed the new ‘super sub’ after an outstanding fourth quarter effort that helped North Melbourne secure a 4-point win over Richmond.

The 25 year old, nicknamed ‘Flash’ for his lightning speed, says he isn’t disheartened when the coaches tell him he’ll be wearing the fluorescent green vest on game day. Instead, he relishes the opportunity to make a difference.

“It’s probably a role I’m suited to, because when you come on you’ve only got a short space of time to make an impact on the game,” he told kangaroos.com.au in an exclusive video interview.

“You’re still a part of the team, whether you play ten, fifteen minutes or a full three quarters.

“If you can get a perfect sub, that comes on and does the right things for the team and breaks games open then that can be a vital thing, especially in finals.”
