North Melbourne’s three-year community partnership with the Ponting Foundation will officially begin on Saturday night.

“We want to be involved with the Ponting Foundation for two reasons. Firstly we wanted to give back to Ricky who is always so incredibly generous to our club and secondly because the Ponting Foundation stands out as a charity that does some amazing work in the community.”

As part of the new partnership, the Ponting Foundation, with the support of North Melbourne, has launched a dedicated live auction to raise funds to help young Australians with cancer.

Between Saturday 31 March and 8pm Tuesday 17 April, fans will have the opportunity to bid on unique items by logging on to the Ponting Foundation website and following the links.

Items being auctioned include:

• Andrew Swallow’s personally signed number 9 playing jumper worn in his first game as North Melbourne captain.
• Drew Petrie’s signed boots, worn in his 200th AFL game.
• A match ball from Round 1 against Essendon signed by your favourite North Melbourne player. You'll also meet with that player and have your photo taken with him at a North Melbourne training session.
• Ricky Ponting’s ‘Unique Perspective on North Melbourne’ - A framed collection of memorabilia, personal notes, merchandise and individual memories of his lifelong following of the Kangaroos.

Several new items will be added across the 18 day auction - be sure to regularly visit the website to stay up do date.
