School holiday time can often be a challenging one for parents trying to keep the kids entertained, but that wasn’t the case on Wednesday when North Melbourne invited its youngest fans to Aegis Park and Werribee’s Avalon Airport Oval for a free football clinic.

At the club’s traditional home, hundreds of junior joeys gave a big cheer when the players arrived from the change-rooms, and it was clear who they were there to see; the numbers 7 (Jack Ziebell), 9 (Andrew Swallow) and 29 (Brent Harvey) on the back of countless jumpers.

The kids were put through their paces by all of the Kangaroos’ stars, learning a range of skills including kicking, marking, tackling and even bumping.

In Werribee, close to a hundred kids turned out to greet the likes of Daniel Wells and Hamish McIntosh at VFL affiliate the Tigers’ home ground.

While it’s still a long way away, many of these youngsters will no doubt be hoping to one day don the royal blue and white themselves.

North Melbourne supporters will have another chance to meet their favourite players at the club's special Good Friday training session at Aegis Park from 10.30am.
