He’s been much improved in the VFL this year, but Brad Scott says Majak Daw’s debut is on hold with several Kangaroos ahead of him in the pecking order.

“I’d say at the moment that (Cameron) Pedersen’s ahead of him and Pedersen’s not in the side,” Scott said on 3AW.

“But he’s improving and I think he’s going to be an AFL footballer, I don’t have too much doubt about that.

“But we’ve got a lot of talls available at the moment, so it’s going to be a challenge to get him in.”

The 195cm, 94kg Sudanese born rookie has come on in leaps and bounds playing for Werribee adding unprecedented pace and agility for a player his size.

Scott says he’s been earmarked for a ruck-forward spot in the future.

“He’s got unbelievable agility and speed and he rucks really well at VFL level, so he can certainly ruck and we think he’d be a terrific pressure forward,” Scott said.

“People keep asking me ‘when’s Majak Daw coming in?’ well, (Drew) Petrie’s ahead of him.”

The Roos depth in similar positions with Petrie, Todd Goldstein and Hamish McIntosh are making it hard for the 21-year old to break into the side.
