With North Melbourne winning five of its last six matches including Sunday’s thriller against Richmond, it’s hard to see the match committee changing too much for the upcoming round against Melbourne.

However some great performances at VFL level may just force the hand of Brad Scott and his fellow panel members.

kangaroos.com.au looks at those most likely for a call-up to the North side.

Cam Pedersen

Able to play forward, back and in the ruck, Pedersen’s form line has been outstanding for much of the year for Werribee. With Robbie Tarrant subbed out of the Roos’ side on Sunday, Pedersen could be called on to help form North’s highly regarded three-pronged attack alongside Lachlan Hansen and Drew Petrie. The mobile big-man had 20 disposals and 6 marks against Williamstown on Sunday.

McKinley, Edwards and Warren

If North Melbourne does want to change things up and move away from three talls in the forward line, the side could look to one of its red-hot medium sized forwards to add a new dimension.

McKinley kicked 5 goals on the weekend, Edwards bagged 4 and Warren 3. Each player brings something different to the table and depending on match-ups, could be used to cause havoc against the Demons.

Cruize Garlett

There’s no denying just how good Garlett is at finding the ball and with 26 disposals, 5 clearances, 7 tackles for North Ballarat last Saturday, he’s showing no signs of dropping off. However breaking into the Roos’ line-up is proving tough for the midfielder.

Majak Daw

Another forward/ruck option, Daw is edging closer to an AFL debut and had a good outing for Werribee playing more in front of goals than as a ruckman. 15 disposals, 6 marks and 2 goals was again encouraging.

Aaron Black

A key forward in North’s future plans, Black has played three games in 2012 and could be given the opportunity to play more after kicking 2 goals as well as collecting 14 disposals and 5 marks.

The Delaneys

Cam and Luke Delaney are as solid as any defenders going around and they’re putting immense pressure on the likes of Nathan Grima and Scott Thompson as key backs. Cam had 14 disposals and 6 marks while his older sibling Luke shutdown veteran Brad Miller and had 21 disposals and 9 marks.

Mullett, Sierakowski and Richardson

All providing plenty of run and carry for North’s VFL affiliate North Ballarat, the members of this trio could easily slot into a spot on a wing against Melbourne. Aaron Mullett returned to form with 19 disposals and 5 tackles, Cam Richardson racked up 20 disposals and 5 inside 50s while Will Sierakowski had 18 disposals and 4 marks to his name.

Ayden Kennedy

Discovering a niche as a defender in 2012, it’s more than likely North Melbourne will test out the athletic youngster in the AFL before the season’s end. Kennedy had 14 disposals and 7 marks for Werribee and is showing plenty of positive signs in his third year.

Ben Speight

He lost his 2011 ‘Super Sub’ title to Matt Campbell on the weekend and Ben Speight will have to generate more than 6 disposals at VFL level to earn a recall.

Ben Mabon

Mabon’s improvement has been dramatic lately and he played one of his best games of the year for North Ballarat finishing with 20 disposals, 20 hit-outs and a goal.

Brad Mangan

Named as one of Werribee’s best, Mangan gives away plenty of height but makes up for it with desire and ability down back.

Lynch, Urquhart and Warren

Neither did enough at VFL level to push for a promotion this week with Malcolm Lynch and Max Warren collecting 9 disposals each and Gavin Urquhart 15.
