Cruize Garlett has returned from injury in the best possible way with a strong performance for Werribee in a VFL practice match on Saturday.

Several players who didn’t travel to New South Wales were in action for the Tigers in their six point win over Coburg.

Despite poor conditions, a number of North Melbourne-listed players showed encouraging signs.

"Werribee did us a favour by allowing us to play three North Ballarat listed players in Liam Anthony, Cruize Garlett and Gavin Urquhart,” Development coach John Lamont told kangaroos.com.au.

Read Lamont’s reviews on each of North’s representatives below (no stats available).

Cruize Garlett:
Cruize was good in the midfield, played well and won plenty of the ball. With the position he played he had the most opportunity to play well, but the impressive thing was that he took his chances and was just about the best North Melbourne listed player.

Liam Anthony:
Liam played on a wing in the first half. He had a quiet start but played himself into the game as it went on.

Malcolm Lynch:
Much like Anthony, Lynch was quiet in the first half but used the break and worked his way back into the game.

Brad Mangan:
Brad was solid in defence all day, even with the tough conditions.

Ben McKinley:
Ben consistently created opportunities playing in the forward line. He kicked one goal and three behinds in the wet.

Will Sierakowski:
Will was impressive in the first half playing off half back but injured his finger just before half-time.

Gavin Urquhart:
Gav was consistent playing off a wing and half back. Kicked a good goal and provided some run.

Ben Warren:
Ben played forward and pushed higher up the ground. He was very consistent throughout, providing a target for the midfield.

Sam Wright:
Sam's missed a lot of training and he definitely needed the run. He kicked a really, really good goal but the main thing for him was that he got through the game and had some miles in the legs.
