With an entourage of about 15 people, the Academy Award nominee met up with Kangaroos’ captain Andrew Swallow in the gym before watching the players train.
Swallow took some time out to explain some AFL rules to Renner, before interviewing him for Channel Seven.
“It’s something I never thought I’d be doing,” Swallow told kangaroos.com.au.
“Jamie Macmillan interviewed Jeremy on the red carpet at Crown a few nights back and it was my turn to have a chat to him during training.”
The interview will be shown in full during Channel Seven’s North Melbourne versus Collingwood pre-match show on Saturday night from 6.30pm.
“I was pretty nervous but he was a great guy. About twenty of us went to the premiere the other night and seeing him standing here in our gym was pretty awesome,” Swallow said.
“Most of the boys were a bit star struck and we had the opportunity to have a group photo which was cool.”
After the interview, Swallow presented Renner with his own North jumper and brand new Sherrin to take back to the States.
“He’d never seen AFL before but was pretty interested in what we do and hung around and watched us train for a bit.”
Renner’s not the only celebrity to visit Aegis Park in recent times with TNA Impact Wrestler AJ Styles put through some skills with former captain Brent Harvey a few weeks back.
