Majak Daw's season is over after the dynamic forward suffered a subtalar dislocation (foot) in the VFL on Sunday.

The 23-year-old went down in a one-on-one marking contest late in the game with Werribee and was taken from the field on a stretcher. He was rushed to the Epworth Hospital for scans and pain management.

Daw won't require surgery to repair his foot at this stage, but is likely to be placed in a cast for up to six weeks.

It's the second consecutive year Daw has had his season ended prematurely. In 2013 he required a knee reconstruction with only a few rounds remaining.

Daw played eight games for North Melbourne this year.
