North Melbourne has been forced to make a change to the side set to take on Geelong with Lachlan Hansen unable to get through the club’s final training session on Friday.
Hansen sustained a back injury after hitting Mazda sponsorship signage at Etihad Stadium during the win over Port Adelaide and left the Aegis Park track early.
“To be honest, I’m surprised he got to this point,” Brad Scott said.
“He’s close but just not close enough.”
Replacing Hansen in the forward line is mature aged recruit Cameron Pedersen who would be relieved to have been finally been another shot in the seniors.
“Cam’s been in good form in the VFL and he deserves his opportunity.”
