North Melbourne’s Curtis Taylor has earned the NAB Rising Star nomination for Round 5.
On what was otherwise a tough night for North, Taylor booted 2 goals to go with 13 disposals and 5 marks against the Dogs.
“I found out this morning,” Taylor told North Media.
“Shawry pulled me aside at the airport, and said it was a reward for effort and the work I’ve been putting in.
“It’s nice to hear and to be recognised, but we didn’t get the win and that’s what we’re here for.”
The 20-year-old has attracted attention in 2020 with his exciting play in the forward line.
One of Taylor’s eye-catching traits has been his marking ability; something he says he has put a lot of work in to.
“I’ve always been told to go for my marks, and it’s something that I’ve worked on a lot, and I want to make it a strength of mine.”
Taylor the Roos’ first nominee of the season, after four players received nods in 2019.
