Scott West to part company
Werribee will have a new look next season with Scott West advising the club he’s moving on.
West has spent the past two years at the helm of the Tigers and leaves with the blessing of CEO Mark Penaluna.
“Scott showed he is a very knowledgeable football person with the coaching ability to take our club to two preliminary finals and that is a credit to his planning and preparation,” Penaluna said.
“The club is committed to people development on every level, whether it is the Senior Coach, a player like this year’s recruit Ben Brown, or one of our training staff.
“As our mission statement says, our aim is to develop excellence in people through sport.”
It’s understood West intends to keep his coaching ambitions alive with a job elsewhere and perhaps back in the AFL system.
“The club wants to thank Scott for his contribution to the Werribee Football Club and we wish him well for his future endeavours in football,” Penaluna added.
West played 324 games with the Western Bulldogs and is a member of the AFL’s Hall of Fame.
