How Goldstein finished the season
Oddly, 2013 was the first season in which Goldstein played every single game. His ability to play as the sole ruckman allowed North to persist with its successful forward setup of three key-position talls.
A career-high in hit-outs in a season was Goldstein’s reward, amassing 822 in his 22 games. In a promising sign, the left-footer also hit the scoreboard towards the back end of the year, kicking seven goals in his last six games.
Goldstein was named in the 40-man All Australian squad and finished third in the Syd Barker Medal, just one vote behind joint winners Scott Thompson and Daniel Wells.
