History of Pick 47
North Melbourne’s final pick in the 2013 Draft has brought great success to the club in the past.
The very first time the club used Pick 47 was in 1995, on none other than Brent Harvey. 362 games later, the selection looms as the best value in the club’s history.
Pick 47 has arrived at North on two other occasions with Nick Lowther in 1998 (no games) and youngster Mitch Wilkins in 2012 who is yet to make his debut.
Perhaps the second best pick 47 in the AFL is Corey Enright who arrived at Geelong in 1999. At 266 games and counting, there’s an outside chance a pick that was at the tail end of the third round for so long could produce two 300 gamers.
While there have also been many players who have failed to play a senior game, the high reward from a handful of the selections augurs well for what will be North’s final pick in 2013.
