Trade Winds: October 20
White a Magpie, Saints negotiating over Bruce and Crows cling to Polec.
White to Pies a done deal
Sydney Swans big man Jesse White will get his wish of a trade to Collingwood, after the clubs agreed to a three-way trade that also involves West Coast, reports Fairfax Media.
The report says the trade could be made official as early as Monday, with the Magpies to receive White and pick six in the NAB AFL Draft, the Eagles picks 11 and 31, and the Swans pick 44.
White, who has played 71 games for the Swans and booted 73 goals, will join Collingwood on a three-year deal.
The Eagles are expected to offer pick 31 to the Brisbane Lions for West Australian Elliot Yeo.
Bruce negotiations stalling
St Kilda and Greater Western Sydney are yet to reach agreement about a suitable price for young key defender Josh Bruce.
News Limited reports that the Giants are asking for Sam Fisher plus a draft pick for the 21-year-old, who has played 14 senior games.
The Saints are said to be offering only pick 41, with Fisher not on the table, and will be prepared to secure Bruce via the pre-season draft if GWS does not accept that deal.
Crows still hopeful on Polec
Adelaide is clinging to the hope it might still be able to snare Brisbane Lions youngster Jared Polec, reports The Advertiser.
The South Australian has nominated Port Adelaide as his preferred trade destination, but the Power and Lions are yet to reach agreement on a deal.
The Crows are ahead of their cross-town rivals in the pre-season draft order, and have confirmed they will select Polec there if he is available.
"There are still two parties who have to negotiate a deal and we're probably the bystander at the moment who can sit back and see how it unfolds," Adelaide list manager David Noble said.
"I don't like the pre-season draft aspect of our trading period but if a deal can't be done and he slips through to there, then we have first selection in there.
"So that's probably the hope."
