Without a win in its first 12 games, Greater Western Sydney would be considered by some as the easy beats of the competition, but not Brad Scott.

The North Melbourne coach has seen the quality of the Giants’ youngsters at times this season, and says they can’t be underestimated.

“GWS kicked the first five goals against Geelong, they were in front at half-time against Essendon at Etihad. They’ve got an embarrassment of talent they are starting to assemble,” Scott told the media on Thursday.

“It’s going to be a really good game, and a really good challenge for us.”

Despite the discrepancies between the records of the teams in the top and bottom halves of the ladder, Scott believes this season is more competitive than ever.

“Every game is a genuine chance of going either way. People can think that’s not right but you only have to look at the results last week to prove that’s not the case.”

Sitting in 13th position with four wins and eight losses, the Kangaroos need a win, but Scott believes it can easily be turned around.

“While we’ve got due respect for GWS and their talent, our main focus is on fixing a couple of things in our game that are just a little bit off,” he added.

“Unfortunately those things just being a little bit off are costing us big time in the scheme of things. We’ve got to fix those, but once we do I’m pretty confident of getting a good result.”

North Melbourne will hold its final training session at Aegis Park on Saturday.
