Scott McMahon is set to miss the Kangaroos' round one clash with Collingwood after being offered a one-match suspension by the Match Review Panel for a high strike on Geelong youngster Jordan Murdoch.

The incident occurred when McMahon and Murdoch had a brief scuffle midway through the final term of the Roos' 12-point loss at Simonds Stadium on Saturday.

Murdoch initially grabbed McMahon's arm as the two players pushed and shoved.

McMahon then swung around and made contact with Murdoch's head.

The MRP classified the incident as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact.

This resulted in a total of 225 demerit points and a two-match suspension.

McMahon, who has no existing good or bad record, can accept a one-game ban if he pleads guilty.
