Participants from this year’s academy were invited by Thomas and Managing Director of Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety Olivier Chretien to spend a day in The Huddle to produce the company’s eChristmas card which will be distributed to thousands of clients and customers this year.
The children were asked to create a card which reflects what is special to them about Christmas. The kids have already created some unique and creative entries which could give them the chance to win some great prizes and see their artwork recognised across the country, and for a lucky few perhaps even internationally.
This year’s Blackwoods Indigenous Academy saw close some 70 youngsters come through Aegis Park to train, learn and grow as part of the innovative program.
Wesfarmers’ company Blackwoods are one of North Melbourne’s major sponsors and the naming rights partner for the Indigenous Academy. The incredible work of the program would not be possible if it weren’t for Blackwoods partnership and commitment to strengthening the community through sport.
