At just eight-years-old, Jerry Ng still has plenty of his childhood to enjoy; but it seems he may already have a career in recruiting to look forward to.

When the youngster and his grade three classmates visited The Huddle this week, they were asked to bring an item that holds special significance. Jerry’s was a little out of the ordinary, but impressive nonetheless.

“He had what looked like a fairly plain exercise book at first, but when he opened it up it was filled with football stats and facts that he had written down from the whole season,” North’s list manager Cameron Joyce told NMFC.com.au.

“I was staggered to see that he had recorded statistics from every game of the year and he apparently watches nine games a weekend.”

Born in East Timor, Jerry has quickly embraced Aussie Rules. After a full analysis of the season, he’s got his eye on trade week.

“He gave me some advice on who he thinks we (the Kangaroos) should look at,” Joyce joked.

“His knowledge of AFL is very impressive and not a lot of adults know as much as Jerry. Maybe we’ll have to keep an eye on him for the next 10 years or so because he seems like a recruiter or list manager in the making. I think he definitely has what it takes.”
