Hobart will play host to Nick Dal Santo’s first outing against his old team, with North set to play St Kilda at Blundstone Arena according to The Mercury’s Brett Stubbs.

The redevelopment of the stadium means the Kangaroos’ newest recruit will have to wait until July to face his former team-mates, but it won’t take away from the significance of the game.

Chairman James Brayshaw has already signaled the club’s intentions to pursue a third fixture in Hobart and a blockbuster clash with a big crowd will only increase that possibility.

It will be the first all-Melbourne match at the venue.

"We really had to twist the AFL's arm to get two games initially," Brayshaw said last week.

"We've talked to them about the possibility of three and they were very positive about that providing it could be done.”

North’s deal for two games a season expires at the end of 2014, with a new contract likely to be negotiated after the Tasmanian state election in March.

The Hobart community has embraced the Kangaroos’ presence, with a sell-out crowd of over 13,000 attending this season’s first fixture at Blundstone Arena against Sydney, and almost 4,000 signed up Tasmanian members.

The AFL will release the official 2014 fixture next week.
