‘On the bubble’ of his first price rise for the season, McKenzie’s 82 points against the Giants leave him with a breakeven in the negatives. For the second consecutive week the left footer had the most inside 50’s for North Melbourne.
While the stat doesn’t translate into Dream Team points, it shows the team recognising McKenzie’s value when he has the ball in his hands. If it continues, it can only lead to more points which would please potential owners of the number two.
Currently, less than 2,000 coaches have McKenzie in their teams.
Lachlan Hansen ($325,300) collected 97 points for the second week in a row. While he may not be the first thought when coaches are looking for a forward in their team, he is quietly putting together a quality few weeks at the other end of the ground.
With the exception of the Gold Coast game in Round 11, Hansen is averaging 92.4 points per game in five matches since moving to defence.
Andrew Swallow ($465,000) maintained his season average of more than 100 despite not reaching the mark against the Giants. The captain is on track for his second consecutive season surpassing a century average, and is currently just a half point below his career high (102.6, 2012).
Levi Greenwood ($254,500) is another player set for his first price rise of 2013. His 61 against the Giants, combined with his 92 against Fremantle leaves him with a breakeven of almost single figures.
