How Delaney finished the season
Delaney’s impressive VFL form for North Ballarat was rewarded with a call-up to the senior side in Round 19 to face Geelong.
From there the defender played each of the last five games, looking solid in the back half. His work at ground level had improved significantly from his previous stints at AFL level, as had his disposal, reflected in his efficiency statistics.
In a quirky coincidence, North’s form-line during Delaney’s time in the side was win-loss-win-loss-win. Last season the Roos also alternated wins with losses during the number 15’s last seven games of the season.
