Cam Delaney will play his first game of the season this weekend, returning from a foot injury.

It’s a positive injury update this week at Arden Street, with a host of players making progress and looking towards a return.

NMFC.com.au spoke to director of football, Geoff Walsh, who provided the latest updates on the club’s injury situation.

#8: Daniel Wells (foot)

Walsh: “He’s out of the moon boot and we expect him to join in training in the next couple of sessions so he’s progressing well.”

#12: Lindsay Thomas (hamstring)

"Barring a mishap between now and Saturday night, he'll play." - Brad Scott

#13: Leigh Adams (head)

Walsh: “The doctor is taking every precaution with him. We’ll do the normal concussion type testing on him.

“If there’s any doubts or symptoms at all we won’t play him. We’ll see how he responds to the testing later on this week.”

#17: Nathan Grima (foot)

"I think if pushed to play we probably could get him out there, but we won't risk him." - Brad Scott

#27: Taylor Garner (hamstring)

Walsh: “Now it’s a matter of getting the conditioning into him so he’s ready for a return.

“Two weeks of full training should see him ready to go.”

#31: Cameron Delaney (foot)

Walsh: “Cam will be playing this week. He’s at a stage where we can’t rehab him much more, so he’s going to play in the VFL.

“It’ll most likely be restricted game-time this week given he’s spent so much time on the sidelines.”

#32: Mason Wood (foot)

Walsh: “He should be available to play. He’ll be tested on the track much like Lindsay, but all the expectations are that he’ll play.

“He had an inflamed heel but he’s OK and he’ll get through this week’s training.”

#34: Jamie Macmillan (broken fibula)

Walsh: “All of his running is over ground now and he’s coping with that well. He’s increased the volume and intensity this week so he’s progressing.”
