North Melbourne’s recent partnership with World Vision has not only been innovative within the AFL industry but also inspiring to many of its members and supporters.

John Williams of Eltham already sponsored a child through World Vision but since the club announced its unique partnership with the organisation, he has taken even more pride in his beloved Kangaroos.

"World Vision is on the same level with the government in Mozambique and it's great to see the partnership it has with North Melbourne," Williams told kangaroos.com.au.

"World Vision supporting the NMFC is making more people aware of the work undertaken by the organisation. As a sponsor I am happy to be associated with a club that does not rely on gambling."

Williams travels to the Tete Province in Mozambique most years to visit his sponsor child Pedrito, and this year he took some North Melbourne merchandise to give to underprivileged children in the community.

"I ran out of (North Melbourne) merchandise. There were 300 kids there so it all disappeared quickly. They were so quick to put it on, especially when they saw the kangaroo on the logo.

"I bring over a football every year and teach the kids how to play and they really enjoy it."

Williams' efforts, in conjunction with World Vision, have improved the quality of life for his sponsor family and the town of Tete immeasurably.
