Crocker lending a hand
With his junior club Scoresby in crisis, Darren Crocker has decided to step in and help.
Darren Crocker’s love of football extends far beyond North Melbourne and it’s that passion that has inspired a step back in time. With his junior club Scoresby in crisis and struggling to keep its head above water, the former Kangaroos premiership player has decided to step in and help.
"They’ve been a Division One club in the Eastern Footy League for a long time, but they’re finding it really hard to attract players to the club,” Crocker told NMFC.com.au.
With the club in an unenviable position on the eve of the 2014 season, the current senior assistant coach at North Melbourne is hoping add his expertise to the organisation.
“They’ve got a new committee on board now who are working extremely hard to get the club back to where they really truly belong,” Crocker added.
“I’ve jumped on board to help and I’ll be mentoring some of the coaches out there.”
Crocker will also be calling on some familiar North faces to aid in the rebuild.
“Andrew Swallow and I will be out there to take training on Wednesday next week (February 5) and we welcome anyone who is looking for a game to come down and train. If you want to play at a club with a good history and good facilities, then Scoresby is perfect and worth considering.”
Interested players can train on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday’s from 6pm or visit scoresbyfc.org.au for more information.
