Wayne Carey in prime-time
There could be an increased North Melbourne flavour on major AFL shows during 2014.
If Carey is featured on Friday nights, he could be providing special comments on up to five Kangaroos' games in prime time.
As reported by The Age, the two-time premiership player has been negotiating with Channel Seven and also with Fox Footy to appear On The Couch. If Carey was to appear on Fox Footy, he would be filling the seat left vacant by Paul Roos, the new Melbourne coach.
Previous roles by Carey during 2013 on Triple M and The Marngrook Footy Show offered him a vehicle to impress, and he parlayed that into Seven's Talking Footy late in the season.
Carey told The Age it had been a "gradual process coming back into the media and that's exactly what it had to be".
"For me, it was about earning respect back and working hard," he said.
