Majak Daw’s strength and raw athleticism could make him unbeatable on the field according to Brad Scott. The 22-year-old is close to returning to full training after a post season knee surgery and if fit, might be a ‘game changer’.

"I thought he might miss the first round of the season but he's going pretty well. I think he will be right for Round 1, which is a real boost," Scott told the Herald Sun’s Jon Ralph.

"He has improved so much since he's arrived without doing much of the pre-season and that's when we need him, to actually coach him.

"Last pre-season when we were able to do some contested marking stuff with him we set up scenarios and our defenders couldn't stop him.

"I know the game doesn't always unfold that way, but when he was in the right position he was unstoppable. The freakish stuff and high marking is good, but he is a genuinely good contested mark."

The Roos played three forward last season and Scott will have the likes of Drew Petrie, Robbie Tarrant, Aaron Black, Mason Wood and Daw at his disposal.

"At West Coast when (Nic) Naitanui started playing really good, they changed their structure to fit him in because he's so unique. (Daw) could be a bit of a game-changer in terms of how you set up, because he's so different."

Former North champion David King agrees with Scott telling SEN’s Morning Glory program he believes Daw is an elite player of the competition in the making.

“I think it’s exciting, I think you’ve got no idea of the popularity of this guy amongst the supporter base. All the kids know Boomer Harvey, Andrew Swallow and Majak Daw – the kids love him,” said King.

“He’s become the face of the Kangaroos and I think he’ll do it well.

“He is still learning what he is capable of. He has been a really immature person and I think he’s straightened his life up and his football has come to the fore.”

“He’ll be a star, I’ve got no doubt about that,” added King.
