An injury to Joel Tippett, combined with important players waiting in the wings, makes selection a very interesting discussion before the trip to Patersons Stadium.

The wide expanses of the ground suited North in Round 6 against Fremantle, and it'll look to make it two wins from two in Perth.

Have your say on what changes you'd like to see in the comments below.

#2: Brad McKenzie

The reason: McKenzie has played well at Patersons in the past. Two appearances as the substitute have yielded 12 possessions in 30 per cent game time and 7 in only 17 per cent respectively.

The challenge: McKenzie has been working hard on his defensive positioning in the VFL. There may be further work for the left-footer to do before he earns a recall.

#4: Liam Anthony

The reason: Anthony was able to continue his solid form in his most recent VFL outing, collecting 21 disposals and two goals.

The challenge: Anthony suffered a cork in the game and while it wasn't serious enough to force him from the ground until the game was well in hand, it may cause doubt before selecting him for his first senior game of 2014.

#5: Ben Jacobs

The reason: Jacobs played perhaps his best game of the year for North Ballarat last weekend, racking up a mammoth 42 disposals, 14 clearances and 4 goals.

The challenge: Playing as an inside midfielder, the dilemma is how Jacobs fits into the North side. There is already a fair share of midfielders who do their best work inside - Andrew Swallow, Ben Cunnington, Levi Greenwood and Jack Ziebell just to name a few.

#17: Nathan Grima

The reason: With the long-term absence of Tippett confirmed, there is a spot waiting to be taken - a place which was Grima's before his foot injury removed him from the senior side.

The challenge: Grima's history of injuries means the medical staff will be overly cautious. If he is unable to complete main training then no risks will be taken.

#32: Mason Wood

The reason: Wood is in hot form for Werribee. With 13 goals in the last four games, the left footer has been knocking the door down.

The challenge: If Wood comes into the side, an existing key forward will most likely make way. Considering all three of Drew Petrie, Aaron Black and Majak Daw had solid performances last time North travelled west, it shapes as a tough decision.

#41: Aaron Mullett

The reason: Mullett is clearly in the best 22 when fit, and his ability to kick long goals adds another dimension to a North attack which under-performed against Geelong.

The challenge: After missing two consecutive games with a back-related hamstring, doubt lingers over Mullett's fitness.

#42: Scott McMahon

The reason: McMahon played a strong game on former Roo Aaron Edwards in the VFL. Along with Tippett's injury, there may be a need for McMahon to play tall against one of West Coast's key position forwards.

The challenge: The match committee may opt to play Michael Firrito as a key defender if Grima's foot hasn't healed. If this ends up being the case, there may not be a matchup for McMahon against an Eagles side which doesn't run too many permanent small forwards through their forward 50.
