History of Pick 25
This year’s National Draft will mark the third time North Melbourne has used a pick 25.

Aaron Black was the most recent selection, arriving at the club in 2009. Well on the way to repaying the faith placed in him, the key position forward has played 48 games and has been a first choice member of the team in the past two seasons.
North’s first ever pick 25 unfortunately didn’t forge a long-term career. Callum Urch played only eight games in five years after the 2002 Draft.
A talented left footer, Urch struggled with his body, suffering a litany of soft tissue injuries which prevented him from getting out onto the field consistently.
In recent years, Brisbane and St Kilda have had a near-monopoly on pick 25. Since 2007 the clubs have used the selection in every year except Aaron Black’s.
In 2014, the pick falls towards the start of the second round; North’s selection sandwiched between two by the GWS Giants (23, 24) and the Western Bulldogs (26, 27).
