Despite being without suspended stars Brent Harvey and Daniel Wells last Saturday against Adelaide, North held on for an impressive seven-point win at Blundstone Arena.
Ziebell told reporters on Monday afternoon that defeating a finals contender like the Crows in a tight contest was "really important" for the Roos' confidence given their spate of close losses in 2013.
The win over the Crows put North a game clear in sixth on the ladder, a position it will probably hold even if it loses to Melbourne given it leads seventh-placed Essendon by almost 10 percentage points.
However, Ziebell said the Roos would have no problems getting up for Saturday night's game, knowing it was the last chance to improve problem areas ahead of the finals.
"It's a pretty important week for us because it's a bit of a dress rehearsal in a sense that the week after we are playing finals," Ziebell said at Arden Street.
"It's pretty important to make sure that we fix some things that we did poorly on the weekend, and try and get those right so the first week in September we can really have a crack at it."
Ziebell was confident Wells could have an impact in the finals despite his recent lack of match practice.
Wells was sidelined by a foot injury after North's round five loss to Collingwood and did not return until the round 21 win over the Western Bulldogs.
The star midfielder made an encouraging return against the Bulldogs, but his bid to return to full fitness was dealt a blow by a subsequent one-match suspension.
But Ziebell said Wells had shown enough in his 18-possession game against the Bulldogs to suggest he could be a valuable player this September.
Ziebell also expected key defender Lachlan Hansen would return against the Demons after missing the past three rounds with a hip injury.
"Lachy did a bit of work on the weekend I think and felt pretty good, so hopefully he comes back into our side," Ziebell said.
Ziebell was best on ground against the Crows but did most of his best work in attack rather than his customary role in the midfield.
The 188cm on-baller showcased his strength overhead last Saturday, taking five marks inside the Roos' forward 50 (two more than the next best player, Adelaide's James Podsiadly) and a team-high four contested grabs.
Ziebell also kicked an equal career-high four goals, with only an inaccurate 4.5 return preventing him from smashing that mark.
Like fellow midfielder Ben Cunnington who snuck forward to kick four goals against the Bulldogs, Ziebell said he had spent time in attack as a junior.
Although he still believes his best position is in the midfield, Ziebell said his and Cunnington's ability to pinch-hit in the forward line gave North an extra dimension.
"I think it just adds a bit of unpredictability to our side, which is exciting coming into the finals," Ziebell said.
"I really enjoy playing in the midfield – I think that's where my greatest strength lies – but it's nice to add another string to your bow and be able to go forward and have an impact.
"I'd hopefully like to do a little it more in the future."
