He’s the master of generating publicity and Kevin Sheedy is at it again – this time trying to drum up support for GWS in Canberra.

The former Giants’ coach using North star Brent Harvey, rather than players at his own club, to generate interest in the upcoming game at Manuka Oval on Saturday.

"We should appreciate a player like Brent Harvey because he's on the doorstep of 400. It's an amazing effort," he told Fairfax media.

The Giants have struggled to attract a crowd in Canberra this year and Sheedy believes Harvey’s experience and time in the game is something the Giants and their supporters should be in awe of.

"You've got a young Giants side who are working through their first 100 games and this guy’s got 400 up.

"He's probably got more games in his career than most of the Giants [put together]."

Sheedy says fan should turn out for the Round 20 clash because they might not get another chance to see the 36-year-old play.

"He's not Ablett, he's not Wayne Carey, he's not Jonathan Brown, he's a short-arsed rover ... and you mightn't see him ever again."

Earlier in the year Sheedy called on fans to “Boo a Roo” but has now softened his stance with the Giants sitting equal last on the ladder with just four wins having lost five matches in a row.

The last time North played the GWS was in Round 14 last year when it recorded an 86-point win.

Drew Petrie booted five goals for the Kangaroos, Lindsay Thomas kicked four and Brent Harvey three as well as 24 possessions as their side dominated.

The home side’s task made even tougher this time around with the likes of Jeremy Cameron and Tom Scully out with injury.
