Now with the year having come to a close, the best 32 gifs will battle against each other to take out the inaugural gif of the year title.
It will all be decided by you. There will be two matchups a day, with the voting period approximately 24 hours for each one.
The full draw will be revealed at the conclusion of the first round.
Match 15
Todd Goldstein’s mark (Semi Final) v Drew Petrie’s chase down tackle (Round 21)

Surprisingly without a seed, Goldstein’s match saving mark in the semi-final victory became an instant classic for North fans.
The ruckman stood tall in the defensive 50 against a rampaging Cats’ forward line, taking a strong contested mark to drag the Kangaroos through to the preliminary final.

During 2014, Brad Scott often explained how Drew Petrie was one of the best pressure forwards in the competition. The North veteran, all 197cm of him, chased down his Bulldogs’ opponent, winning the free kick for holding the ball.
Match 16
#3: “Are you kidding?!” (Round 20) v Aaron Mullett’s smother (Round 3)

Michael Firrito’s displeasure with the umpires against the Giants earned the defender the most attention he’d had in a long time.
After conceding a free kick close to goal, some Firrito backchat made the goal a formality, after he conceded a 50 metre penalty. The veteran was confused as to just what he did though, and when he found out he uttered three words which were perfectly picked up on camera.

Most smothers happen from close range, with no more than a few inches away from the player’s boot and the opponent’s hands.
Mullett’s smother of Chad Wingard in Round 3 was a different case. As the Power forward wheeled around on his left foot, the North defender was 2-3 metres behind. However at full stretch he was able to get hands onto the snap shot and prevent what looked to be a certain Port Adelaide goal.
