Small forwards are generally better known for their ability around the big sticks than in the air, but Lindsay Thomas made an exception to that rule against the Blues.

During the third quarter, isolated deep in attack, Thomas surveyed the situation as Sam Wright pumped the ball inside 50.

With Brent Harvey outsized against Zach Tuohy, the number 12 worked hard to get to the contest calling his team-mate to get front and centre.

Making up significant ground, Thomas timed his leap perfectly, turned his body to meet the drop of the ball and pulled down a spectacular mark.

The high fly was enough to see the North forward awarded a nomination in the Lifebroker Mark of the Year.
