Some things are better left unsaid and that's the approach Daniel Wells is taking with respect to North's embarrassing elimination final defeat to West Coast last year, as the sides come together for the first time since that match on Friday night.

"Obviously it was very disappointing last year but it hasn't really been brought up amongst the group," Wells said.

However as far as the Roos are concerned, the Eagles are just like any other team.

"No doubt the guys that played last year would probably think about that and try take it into our game but you always want to beat every team you come up against and this is no different."

Only a few percentage points separates the sides on the ladder making the clash a vital one for their respective finals chances.

"Both teams are around about the same mark in terms of wins and losses so it's going to be a really important game for both clubs."

Wells was joined by Lindsay Thomas in Perth on Thursday to help the Eagles celebrate the upcoming Indigenous Round.  The pair coming face to face with the opposition in Sharrod Wellingham, Josh Hill and past player David Wirrpanda.  While the focus of the themed round will no doubt be on Wells and Thomas, the latter is happy to fly under the radar this week with another team-mate making all the headlines.

Majak Daw's six goal haul last week coming as no surprise to the small forward.

"You can see what he can do...last week he absolutely dominated," Thomas stated.

"Maj will be the first to say he's still got a lot of work to do, but he's taken all the right steps and he's playing some really good footy."

The prospect of Daw and Eagles' superstar Nic Naitanui lining up on each other even has the players talking according to Thomas.

"Tomorrow night he'll get the opportunity to come up against Nic Nat (Naitanui) which is exciting for the game. Maj is playing really well at the minute and he just has to keep a level head and keep doing what he's doing."

Echoing Brad Scott's recent comments, Thomas is careful not to put too much pressure on the four-game player.

"He's an x-factor player for us but it isn't just about Maj, it's about the whole team performance. I'm sure he'll look forward to the challenge and play some really good footy."

The media conference followed North's light training session earlier in the day.
