North’s medical staff will have to work overtime this week with five players trying to beat the clock ahead of Friday night’s blockbuster against Hawthorn.
The Roos were hit hard with injuries after their encounter with Geelong. Andrew Swallow (concussion), Ben Cunnington (corked quad), Nick Dal Santo (adductor), Robbie Nahas (finger) and Shaun Atley (high ankle) are all in doubt.
“They have all been listed as ‘test’ this week,” Director of Football Geoff Walsh told NMFC.com.au.
“It’s one of those situations where we want to give each of them as much time as possible to come up.”
In more positive news for the club, Jed Anderson is on track to play for Werribee on Saturday.
“We thought he’d be right to play last week, but the medical staff decided some more strength and rehab was the way to go,” Walsh said.
“This week, provided he gets through final training, will mark his long awaited return which is great for him, and the club.”
The small forward injured his hamstring in Round 1 against Adelaide and hasn’t seen any action since.
