North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos coach Scott Gowans has backed Moana Hope to play a key role in attack during the club's inaugural AFLW campaign.
While Hope was played in varying roles across two seasons at Collingwood, there's no question as to where she'll start the season; at home in attack.
“She’s a lock down at full-forward and we want her to be a master at what she’s really good at which is kicking goals and providing forward pressure and bringing other forwards into the game,” Gowans told The Herald Sun.
Hope booted 13 goals across 15 games for the Magpies, and has put herself in a strong position to add to that tally in 2019.
“She obviously had a few injuries at Collingwood but just hasn’t put a foot wrong yet. I think she’s just such an asset to us.
“She’s delivered on everything she said she would in terms of effort and all those little things doing the extras and working on her craft.”
Hope has regularly talked of her love for her new club.
“She’s been absolutely terrific off the field as well with the supporters and helping the young girls.”
