They may be away from the club, but there’s no easing off for the North Melbourne players.
Speaking with North Media from Western Australia, Jy Simpkin revealed just how hard he and his teammates have been working.
“The running’s been really solid; I think we are notching up 10-12 kilometres every running session,” he said in a Zoom interview.
“I’ve had four sessions this week, and they’ve all be roughly an hour to 80 minutes.
“On top of that we’ve got to do some kicking as well, with one other person.
“It hasn’t been easy, that’s for sure, especially up here in the 38-degree heat.”
Simpkin opted to “escape the footy bubble” following the postponement of the season, spending time with his girlfriend’s family in Kununurra, in the Kimberley.
