He’s only been at North Melbourne for a year and a half, but it's clear Jasper Pittard has had a significant impact at his new club.

Voted into the leadership group this year, the defender has impressed everyone with his professionalism and maturity.

But like any life-changing move, it's those around you who can play a key role in the experience.

In a live Instagram chat with fans on Monday, Pittard singled out Luke McDonald and Ed Vickers-Willis as two players who set the tone for their teammates.

“He (McDonald) brings a lot of passion to the place,” the Roos' number 17 said.

“He’s been a North Melbourne person his whole life, and he just bleeds for the club. I really love that about him.

“He’s a really good person as well … he cares for everyone, and is someone I’ve definitely clicked with.

“I love playing with him.”

While Vickers-Willis has had a terrible run with injury, playing just 14 games since being drafted in 2014, Pittard says he has never wavered in his approach.

“He’s such a great guy and I can’t wait for him to get back from his injuries,” Pittard added.

“He’s had a rotten run. He’s one of those guys who’s the ultimate professional, but just seems to have a bad run with injuries.

“Good people like him, they get what they deserve, and I’m sure he’ll have a good run when he’s back. He’s very popular and we all love playing with him.”

Pittard took hundreds of questions from North supporters on Monday morning, with the club continuing to provide more player engagement during the current pandemic.
