North Melbourne will wait until Sunday to make a final call on whether Majak Daw takes his place against St Kilda.
Daw was named in the Roos’ 22 on Final night, but missed the final captain’s run.
“He pretty much needs just to rest up,” GM Football Brady Rawlings told the media.
“He’s had a couple of little respiratory issues over the last couple of days, so the best thing for Majak right now is not to be at training and rest up to give him every possible chance to play tomorrow.”
If Daw is passed fit, it will be his first game since Round 23, 2018.
“We just want to give it another day until we make the call,” Rawlings said.
“He’s done a lot of work so having a couple of days off training is not a massive issue.
“(It's) very low-level respiratory. It’s probably a bit more he’s lacked a bit of sleep over the last couple of days. It’s not a big issue in terms of the illness. We just want to make sure he rests up, gets a good night’s sleep and see how he pulls up in the morning.
“If he pulls up well, he’ll take his place in the 22.”
