North Melbourne can today confirm ruckman Daniel Currie has been traded to Gold Coast.

North will receive pick 53 for Currie from the Suns, the pick Gold Coast received as part of the Zac Smith trade with Geelong.

Currie played four games for the Roos, after joining the club through the National Draft in 2012.

North GM Football Operations and List Management Cameron Joyce thanked Currie for his service.

“Daniel has been nothing but professional during his time at Arden St and has been a valued member of our playing squad in his three seasons with us,” Joyce said.

“While we are disappointed to see Daniel leave, we certainly understand his desire to play more senior football and wish him all the very best for the future.”
