North Melbourne captain Andrew Swallow will be fit to play in Hobart on Saturday, Director of Football Geoff Walsh says.
Swallow was substituted in the loss against the Hawks after copping a heavy knock in the third quarter.
"Andrew was given the OK to return to the field on Saturday night, however there wasn’t long left in the game when the required 20 minutes for the concussion sub had passed, so we decided to leave him in the red vest,” Walsh told NMFC.com.au.
"He pulled up well the following day, has shown no ill-effects from the knocks and has passed all the necessary tests with our medical team."
Meanwhile, Luke McDonald could join his captain for the trip to Tasmania, but will be required to get through training before making his return from injury.
"We’ll have our main training session on Wednesday and another light run on Friday before we make any final decisions," Walsh said.
"Luke will need to show that he can train fully before we consider him for selection."
Jarrad Waite could also make his return after missing Saturday night's match due to hamstring soreness.
Daniel Wells continues to be monitored as he looks to overcome achilles soreness.
"Daniel’s training loads will be determined based on medical assessments taking place during the week, but we need to make sure he’s at 100 per cent before he makes his return."
