Defender Scott McMahon has continued his good form in Werribee’s VFL practice match against Box Hill at Arden Street on Friday afternoon.

The 28-year-old’s experience was on display, often directing teammates around him and clearing the ball out of a Tigers’ defence that was under constant pressure.

North development coach Jarred Moore said McMahon played out most of the game before being rested in the fourth term.

“(McMahon) started pretty well. It’s a pretty young side so he’s got a big job down there trying to get the set-ups right,” Moore told NMFC.com.au after the match.

“He got through about three quarters so it was a good effort.”

Ed Vickers-Willis, who appeared in his second game for Werribee, looked more composed playing in the midfield.

Moore said the draftee made some progress after struggling to adjust to the speed of the game last weekend.

“(We saw) a lot more improvement from Ed,” Moore said.

“He got a lot more of the footy in the first place, but also breaking the lines and (he did) a couple of really good things through the stoppages to set up his teammates.”
