AFL Fantasy is back for another season, and the team at Footy Prophet will again be supplying NMFC.com.au with premium fantasy analysis and tips for the 2015 season.

While North Melbourne romped to an 82-point victory over Brisbane at Etihad Stadium, the Roos also dominated the fantasy battle. Five players scored more than 100 with strong performances from a host of others.

First off the rank was Todd Goldstein ($522,000) with a colossal 153 points. He rose above the Lions’ potent ruck combo of Stefan Martin and Matthew Leuenberger, and was pivotal to North asserting its midfield dominance.

Goldstein amassed 37 hit-outs and collected 23 disposals, seven marks, eight tackles and a goal – stats even a midfielder would be proud of.

After two strong performances, Goldstein is shaping as the must-have fantasy ruck this year. If you have a rookie or mid-pricer to upgrade, make Goldstein your target.

Recruit Jarrad Waite($459,000) finished on 146 points and showed everyone why North was so keen on him. He kicked seven goals and was rarely challenged down forward. Waite also worked well with Drew Petrie and the duo will be hungry for more goals next week against Port Adelaide.

Jack Ziebell ($494,000) was a driving force around the ball, collecting 131 points including two goals. He won his matchup on the day against Mitch Robinson. 27 possessions, seven marks and seven tackles rounded out a nice day for Ziebell and fully restored the faith of fantasy coaches everywhere.

Fellow star Shaun Higgins ($437,000) also got over the line with 100 points and two goals. His fantasy patrons would be breathing a little easier. Sam Gibson ($538,000) also starred with 102 points, showing that he’s still got value when not assigned tagging duties. North’s main user of the ball, he finished with 33 possessions.

There were a few injury effected scores. Daniel Wells ($326,000) started the game promisingly, but was subbed out of the game at half time with only 31 points to his name. Nick Dal Santo ($443,000) also only saw a half of football, after being subbed with a hamstring injury early in the third quarter. He finished on 48 points.

Around the Grounds

There was a boil over at Simonds Stadium as Fremantle smashed Geelong by 44 points and raked in a huge fantasy bounty.

David Mundy ($575,000) accumulated 39 possessions and nine tackles, reaching 151 points. Not far behind was Michael Barlow ($632,000) with his 145 points coming from 31 possessions, 13 marks and three decisive goals. Also kicking multiple goals was Stephen Hill ($469,000) who scored 124 points thanks to 29 possessions, and Nathan Fyfe, who started slowly but grew in influence as the game wore on. Fyfe ended up on 116 points and did his Brownlow chances no harm at all.

Other monster scores for the week included Josh Kennedy ($461,000) and his 10-goal 141-point haul, Marcus Bontempelli ($447,000) and his 133 point game-winner against the Tigers, and Dylan Shiel ($537,000) and his 136 points in Greater Western Sydney’s come from behind win against Melbourne.
