In an effort to enhance the fan experience at matches, North Melbourne ran out to a different tune against the Lions.
A giant 12-metre long helium blimp loomed large over the playing arena at Etihad Stadium with the players breaking through a new banner that unfurled underneath. On it was the impressive Roosistence boxing kangaroo image.
As Andrew Swallow led the North side out, Tim Rogers’ new version of the theme song was played with the club encouraging its supporters to stand up and sing along loud and proud.
This week, the team will run out onto the ground second and the club hopes its fans will join in the chorus once again and create a hostile environment for the Port Adelaide team.
