The manager of Greater Western Sydney's Adam Tomlinson has not guaranteed his player will remain a Giant next year, despite the club's insistence that the contracted big man is going nowhere.
Carlton is believed to be extremely keen on the 22-year-old, with list manager Stephen Silvagni familiar with the Victorian from his time at the Giants.
Tomlinson started the 2015 season as a back-up ruckman to Giants star Shane Mumford, but after injuring his toe in round two against Melbourne, played just six more games for the year.
His agent, Nick Gieschen from Elite Sport Properties, confirmed to NAB AFL Trade Radio on Tuesday that Victorian clubs had inquired about Tomlinson and did not rule out a move.
"He's a contracted player so that's where it sits at the moment," Gieschen said.
"(He) had a really frustrating year with some turf toe and then came into the side later in the year and was a little bit in and out.
"He's a quality player and yeah, there's been some interest from clubs back home as you'd expect but at the moment he's a GWS player and we'll see how the next week and a half unfolds.
"That’s what was always going to happen when they (GWS) had so many early quality draft selections, so not every player can fit into the best 22.
"We've seen the last couple of years they've lost two or three per year but it's a good problem for GWS to have that's for sure."
Earlier on Tuesday, GWS' general manager of football operations Graeme Allan said the tall forward was a required player.
"I don't know where those rumours have come from. (He) loves it up there and just bought a house in Balmain," Allan told Trade Radio.
"He's a really important part of our club."
