Stephens and Toby Pink will make their season debuts against the Demons, having been selected to replace Jackson Archer (suspended) and Griffin Logue (hamstring).
Jack Darling will line up at full-forward in his milestone 300th AFL appearance.
The veteran played 298 games and kicked 532 goals for West Coast before switching to the Kangaroos in last year's Trade Period.
Former Eagles teammate Andrew Gaff was invited into the Kangaroos' rooms to present Darling with his 300th guernsey before the game.
North Melbourne revealed on Thursday that it will honour official club Legends Keith Greig and Wayne Schimmelbusch across its home games at Marvel Stadium in 2025, with the ends of the ground to be named after them.
The northern end will be known as the 'Greig' end, and the southern end as the 'Schimmelbusch' end.
Greig and Schimmelbusch played 294 and 306 games, respectively, for the club throughout the '70s and '80s, including the club’s first-ever VFL/AFL premiership in 1975.
