North Melbourne ruck Tristan Xerri has received 10 AFL Coaches' Association Champion Player of the Year Award votes for his efforts in Sunday's 59-point win over Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.

The No.38 got the better of Demons star Max Gawn in the duo's head-to-head battle, finishing with 29 hitouts, 20 disposals, 12 clearances and a goal.

Midfielder Tom Powell was the second highest-rated player on the ground according to North Melbourne senior coach Alastair Clarkson and Melbourne senior coach Simon Goodwin, earning seven votes.

Dominant in the middle, Powell collected a game-high five centre clearances to go with 31 touches, 10 score involvements and one goal.
