Well rested and ready to launch into the second half of the season, the Kangaroos returned to Aegis Park on Tuesday for training.

Following a five-day break, in which some players opted to travel interstate or to the country for a breather, it was straight back to business with assistant coach Darren Crocker leading the midfield group in a skills session.

There was a focus on kicking and plenty of enthusiasm among the players who were all happy to get their hands on the footy; this after all was the longest break since Christmas.

Sam Gibson was one player doing his best to impress with the club having the opportunity to promote a rookie at the mid-way point of the year.

With little time to settle in, the focus was immediately on the must-win clash against the Gold Coast on Saturday night. Anchored at the bottom of the ladder the Suns would like nothing more than to knock off North Melbourne.

Brad Scott’s players have lost four of their last five games and risk losing touch with the top eight if things don’t go their way.
