Drew Petrie’s streak of 105 consecutive games will end this Friday when he misses the clash against Essendon due to suspension.

The streak started in round two of 2011 when he returned from suspension to face Collingwood.

NMFC.com.au lists the notable occurrences since the first of 105 consecutive matches.

Debuts

24 players made their North Melbourne debut during Petrie’s streak. The first was Kieran Harper in Round 6, 2011 and the most recent was Trent Dumont in Round 4, 2015.

Almost half the list – 20 players – have never played a game for North without Petrie in the side.

Teammates

Petrie has had 56 different teammates in his last 105 games. Over the journey there has been only two players turn out in more than 100 matches – Todd Goldstein (102) and Scott Thompson (100).

On the flip side, there have been three players to appear in one match – Ben McKinley, Max Warren and Gavin Urquhart.



Venues

North Melbourne has been a frequent traveller over the last few seasons, playing for premiership points at no fewer than 14 different venues in Petrie’s 105 consecutive games.

The venues: MCG, Etihad Stadium, Metricon Stadium, AAMI Stadium, Gabba, Simonds Stadium, Domain Stadium, Aurora Stadium, Blundstone Arena, SCG, Spotless Stadium, Adelaide Oval, StarTrack Oval (Canberra), ANZ Stadium.

Petrie’s 227 goals in his last 105 games is the sixth-most in the AFL, behind only Lance Franklin (329), Jack Riewoldt (285), Travis Cloke (267), Josh Kennedy (248) and Tom Hawkins (228).

He’s had 22 games with bags of at least four goals, with the highlight back-to-back weeks of seven goals.

Carlton and Richmond were the unlucky teams on the other end of the hauls, as Petrie kicked seven in three quarters against the Blues. Five of his seven against the Tigers were in the last term as North triumphed by four points in a thrilling battle.
