While thousands of North supporters have reveled in the team’s success in recent times, a handful of VIP guests were given the rare opportunity to get up close to the players during preparations for their match against Collingwood in Round 21.

The first ever Locker Room Legends function involved Peita and Christopher Elkhorne, Tony Chiera, Daniel and Mark Denning, Arthur and Ryan McGuinness, Fred and Fay Sands and Peter and Susan Rowe.

The group enjoyed a unique setting for dinner, held deep in the bowels of Etihad Stadium where a change room was converted into a dining room just metres from the North warm up area.

Former skipper Anthony Stevens hosted the function with chief of football Donald McDonald and chairman James Brayshaw also stopping by. Brad Scott also invited the table into the meeting room and gave a blow-by-blow account of the team’s highly confidential plans for the Pies.

The guests then watched the players line-up and run out onto the ground from the players’ race.

Scott’s tactics were on the money and the guests returned to the change rooms after the final siren to watch the team sing the song, turning the unique event into a truly memorable night.
