The former Bulldog was introduced to the players at Arden Street before another tough training run in thirty degree heat.
A dual premiership winning coach at the Wangaratta Magpies, Lappin joins John Lamont in a development role and will be at the club in a full-time capacity by Christmas.
Another familiar face was also welcomed at training today, former player Ben Robbins having recently been appointed as one of the club's runners for 2010.
After six years with the Brisbane Lions, Robbins joined North Melbourne in 2002 and played 40 games for the Roos over the following two seasons.
